The Fusion of Folk Music and Piano Music

Abstract

The piano was introduced around the 17th century, but the real development in China began in the late 19th and early 20th century. Although the Chinese piano started late and has a short development time, in more than 100 years, our piano education has developed vigorously, and has trained a large number of outstanding piano educators, performers and composers. In terms of piano work creation, the Chinese Classics of Piano Works published by Shanghai Music Publishing House in 2005 is the best witness of the localization of Chinese pianos.
