Describing the Production of Art as a Series of Attempts to ‘Solve’ a Certain Artistic ‘Problem’


Abstract


Kubler defined “primitive entities” as “mysterious” events in his novel “The Shape of Time”, evading regulations and proper definitions. In the course of history, they seem to be nothing. No precedent can explain its mysterious, innovative qualities. This article compares the ideas and concepts of Jacob Burckhardt with Kubler. For Kubler, the “problems” introduced by the main objects have been solved by the same creative methods, as said, characterized by quasi-Platonic idealistic qualities.
